Gerd Winner born 8th October 1936 in Braunschweig
Painter and graphic artist

1956-62 studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin 

1961/62 pupil of Professor Werner Volkert

1964 independent painter and graphic artist in Berlin, Braunschweig and London

1975 Chair of painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich

Winner received international recognition by large-scale works in public spaces in London. Extensive graphic cycles in the London docks and road markings in the New York Times Square.

1969/1980 Winner won numerous art awards and in 1977 took part in the Documenta 7th
1969 Art Award for the graphic Wolfsburg
1972 German Critics Prize for Visual Arts Biennial of Graphic Arts Award for Lugano
1973 Art Award for Graphics, Ljubljana Art Prize for Graphics and Graphic World Competition, San Francisco
1974 Art Award for graphics, Krakow Biennale
1980 Arts Council Prize of Great Britain, Bradford Print Biennale, and the price of Norwegian graphic art biennial
